Aprilynne Pike, the author of Wings, has just posted a new, never before seen, alternate version of the beginning of the book to her fansite!

According to Pike, she always wanted this beginning but eventually came to terms with the fact that it was a bit too much to have such a big revelation at the start of the book, as it made the rest of the beginning seem like a let down.
